Ad | Nature Makers Review by Heather Altinok
Faye from Nature Makers invited one of our Not Another Mum Group Mums to review her classes. Nature Makers run nature inspired Vegan and Eco-friendly Art & Craft classes, parties and events for children 6 months +.
Heather and Lailah went to give it a go recently.
Here's what Heather had to say:
Two of my daughter’s favourite things are craft and being outdoors so when we had a chance to try a Nature Makers class we grabbed it with both hands and it did not disappoint!
The class we went to had a bird focus.
After a brief introduction we went outside to make some bird feeders which involved pushing tiny sunflower seeds through some oranges and apples and finding a stick that could be used for the bird feeder. Apart from the fact that my daughter insisted on wearing this like a bracelet rather than hanging it on a tree, she was delighted with what she made.
We then went on to make a big nest with leaves and sticks and she was in her element running around and copying some of the older children collecting leaves. We then had to find wiggly worms (pretend) for the nest before a story about birds and some outside painting where we created and painted a robin in a nest. We then went inside for snack and another story.
The class is around an hour but goes really quickly. My daughter is 15 months and I felt this was entirely age appropriate for her, I just had to watch her with still putting things in her mouth and stopping her from eating the bird feeder!!
If you like being outdoors or want to encourage your little ones to spend more time outside then this is something you should try.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely be going back for more outdoor crafts.
