Baking with Ted
We have been baking!!
Recently, Teddy has been getting increasingly more interested in when I've been cooking.
So, we bought him a learning tower from Wayfair to get him more involved and he has LOVED it!!
He mainly helps with stirring stuff when I'm making dinner but we've also started baking biscuits (or bisbits are he calls them).
We found a basic biscuit dough recipe from BBC Good Food website and used some sprinkles to decorate.
250g butter, softened
140g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
300g plain flour
Mix the softened butter and caster sugar in a large bowl, then add the egg yolk ad vanilla extract and beat.
sift the flour and stir until well combined. Don't be afraid of getting your hands in to give it a good mix!!
roll out, use cookie cutters to cut your shapes and bake on 180 degrees for 15 mins - or until brown.
They were a bit burnt at the edges but they tasted great! Thankfully, Teddy is a sharer ha.
We did have a bit of an incident where Ted decided an egg should go on the floor and the flour should be thrown in the air.... But he had fun and the clean up didn't take too long.
What do you cook/bake with your kids?
