#Ad Umberslade Farm Park Forest School review
Updated: Aug 13, 2019
What a day! We were given complimentary tickets for Umberslade Farm Park forest school and I was blown away. I actually think it may be the most awesome kid thing ever. And I’m in no way an outdoorsy person!!!
From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, the staff were so friendly and inviting.
The forest school is deep within the woods of the Farm, with lots of different stations for the children to play at. It definitely fosters the imagination, encouraging creative play.
The session started with an in-depth safety talk explained in appropriate, child friendly language.
No activity was out of bounds as long as the children were safely with a grown up and stayed within the roped off area of the forest school. Once everyone had understood the rules, they were off exploring and playing!
We went with some family, including my 2-year-old niece, Florence who had a whale of a time! From jumping in puddles, to making mud pies, to toasting marshmallows over a fire. It was a fun packed session.
The forest school is aimed at children 1-7 years old but Teddy was welcomed and included as much as possible.
He was given a digestive biscuit to eat whilst Florence toasted her marshmallow and loved banging the wooden sticks on the pans. He also took a liking to the locks and light switches. He was chattering away and laughing the whole session. He even hugged a tree,
All of the stations were made using pallets so everything looked rural and recycled.
I can't wait to go back with Teddy when he can make the most of all activities. I've been telling everyone about their sessions. The only criticism I'd have is that I'd love it to be even bigger haha.
A lot of the Not Another Mum Group Mums are interested in going with their babies who are a similar age to Teddy, so it'd be great if there were some baby specific sessions occasionally too.
The farm run weekly sessions on a Wednesday morning 10am - 11.30am. There are also two sessions on a Saturday at 10am-11.30am and 1pm-2.30pm once a month.
Every session takes place outside just a few minutes walk through the farm park. Arrive dressed for the weather. Think wellingtons and waterproofs!
Each session costs £10.00 per child and you can book a space by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
